Bible Verse to Memorize
As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. / Ephesians 4:1-3
A warm welcome is extended to all who join us to worship; especially you, who are here, for the first time. We gather to worship in God’s presence sustained by the power of the Holy Spirit and encouraged through the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

PREPARE TO WORSHIP
CALL TO WORSHIP
On this Remembrance Sunday we gather to pray,
for a world where no one will learn war anymore.
On this day when the guns once fell silent,
we gather to pray for peace to reign in every heart,
home and nation.
On this day of hope,
we come before you, God, to remember
all those who gave their lives so we could be free.
ACT OF REMEMBRANCE
National Anthem: ‘O Canada’
Laying on Wreath: Stan Knowles
1 Minute Silence
The Reading of the names: Michelle Howatt
The Soldier’s Prayer:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them, nor years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
we will remember them.

This is the word of the Lord

MESSAGE Remembered by God
Gracious God, bless these gifts and these givers. May they be used well to foster peace and joy in this world and in the lives of those who cross our paths.
May real and lasting change start now, with us, through us, and with God’s blessing. Amen.

What’s Up at St. James & St. John?
SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS PROJECT – The Outreach Team is seeking your assistance with the Salvation Army Christmas Project. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they are encouraging people, in lieu of hampers, to give monetary donations or gift cards for groceries this year. We are asking the congregation to please assist the Salvation Army with their request. Please leave your donation at the Church Office or on the offering plate, designating it “Salvation Army”. A member of the Outreach Team will deliver all donations to the Salvation Army, who will in turn ensure that all registered families will receive a Christmas they will enjoy. Thank you – The Outreach Team
BIBLE STUDY – The Fall Bible study finished on Tuesday evening. An Advent Bible study will begin on Tuesday, November 24th, at 7:00 PM, in the church.
What’s Up in the Community?
John Bosma launched his book “Miramichi Lads & Ladies: We Will Remember Them” on April 11, 2020 (the day his family arrived from Holland on the Miramichi in 1955). Due to the great response, there was a second edition of Book One that was available at Mill Cove Coffee on November 1st. Due to many requests for additional stories of more Miramichi veterans, Book Two is being researched and should be ready for publication in 2022. If you have a story of a veteran that you would like included in Book Two, please forward a biography of at least 150-200 words to Mr. Bosma at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning 773-5174. A photo of the veteran, in uniform, must accompany the story to be considered for publication.
