St James and St John United Church

February 13 2022

Hear these words from Scripture:
“Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God.”
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
“Love never ends.”
“Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.”
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
“God so loved the world.”
God so loves the world.
Let us worship the God of love and life. Amen.

“The Power of Your Love”

Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the forgiveness you offer us and the gift of new life in you.
We know that Your love is perfect, it never fails,
and nothing can separate us from it.
Our prayer is that our lives would be so filled and overflowing with the power of your love, that we in turn, would make a difference in this world and bring honor to you. We seek your help in reminding us that the most important things in life are not based on talents or gifts but rather what we can do in this life to simply love you and to love others. Amen.

How to Walk in the Way of Love

“Thou I May Speak”

We recognize that the greatest gift is the gift of love.
May our offerings distribute this love to the world:
the small world we inhabit
with the suffering people we know;
the larger world where the power of love is so needed.
We ask it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

May the Lord bless you this day;
may he keep you in his loving care everyday throughout the year.
And may he grant you happiness in everything that you do.
For in everything you seek and share, his love is always with you!
