100TH BIRTHDAY Joyce James is turning 100 years old! In honor of Joyce and this momentous milestone, we are hosting an open house celebration on Saturday, August 3rd from 2-4 P.M at the Church Center. We invite you to drop in, express your birthday wishes and greetings to Joyce and have a piece of cake.
WELCOME REV. BEVERLEY BRAZIER We are pleased to announce that Rev. Beverley Brazier will be visiting in Miramichi and has offered to lead the worship service on August 11th, while Rev. Alice is on vacation. Rev. Bev is very much looking forward to seeing everyone and will be available during coffee time before the church service for those who would like to say ‘hello’ and have a little chat.
FOOD BANK Miramichi Community Food Bank serves approximately 400 households each month. The Food Bank has outgrown its current space and is in the process of purchasing a property to improve our service to the vulnerable in our community. We are reaching out to the community to raise money to help with the purchase and interior renovation of the building. Any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated. We are a registered charity and a receipt for tax purposes will be issued. If you are able to help, please contact the Food Bank at 622-1838. Thank you for your continued support.

SHORT TERM MISSION TRIP This is an expression of interest for any of you (16 & over) who might like to join a Short Term Mission Team to El Salvador, spring of 2020. Dates and project details are still being looked at. In the past, these types of trips have been between 8 – 10 days long. Cost per individual would be approx. $1700 cdn. Depending on the type of project we would be involved with, the cost of the project could be approx. between $5,000 – $8,000 US. Anyone who has thought about going on a Short Term Mission trip like this is encouraged to contact David Jardine or Bill Adshade.
FOLKSONG FESTIVAL 62nd Miramichi Folksong Festival, Monday, August 4th – Friday, August 9th. Featuring, Gospel Concert, New Brunswick Day Breakfast and Noon luncheons with live music, Children’s Show. Folk Feast and Fun (lunch, musical boat ride and evening concert, by reservation only) evening concerts and closing. Dinner/ Concert (by reservation). Weekly passes available by reservation, call 622-1780. Musical guests this year, Friends with Heart, James Morrison and the Down East Entertainers, Down River Square Dancers, Heather Rankin, Miramichi Fiddlers, 4 dollar Bill, Lumber Jills, Ivan & Vivian Hicks, Gary Morris Band and a host of local performers. Evening concert tickets on sale at Kingston’s Car Wash, Brookdale Flower Shop, on line at Pay Pal or camm 622 -1780. Official opening is Monday August 5th, 7pm, Carrefour Beausoleil with Chief Roger Augustine and local dignitaries, followed by concert with Heather Rankin at 7:30pm.
SYMPHONY AT SUNSET Symphony at Sunset Sundays 7-9pm Bicentennial Park. Join us each week for music in the park. Don’t forget a lawn chair and to join our nightly 50/50 draw. July 21 -Karaoke (2-4pm) + Eric Hendriks (7-9pm). July 28 – Sarah Manderville (7-9pm). July 29 – Lauren McCabe (7-9pm).
